General mixed choir Mescalanza from Julianadorp will be 25 years old in 2019! The first rehearsal was on September 22, 1994. At the moment, the Mescalanza choir consists of about fifty members. The conductor is Durk Geertsma with Dick Laan on the piano.

The Hiking network in Noord-Holland offers hikers opportunities for a healthy, sporty, and interesting hike in the beautiful Noord-Holland. The different hikes take you across beautiful landscapes, linear villages and nature areas, across dirtroads, centuries-old dikes and along historical locations. You can hike directly from one of the starting points, where you can choose from several marked routes. You can pick the length and environment of your hike. Willemsoord Marina is a marina with modern sanitary facilities, a launderette and a fuel pontoon where you can refuel with diesel oil. The marina is equipped with a WiFi system. As a marina, we have proudly been wearing the Blue Flag since 2009 and since 2016 the Green Pennant has also been added. The Blue Flag and Green Pennant are international environmental awards. Outside the marina we have a yacht yard where you can go for all types of maintenance and repair work.

Southeast of Den Helder lies the beautiful nature reserve World Heritage Waddenzee. The Balgzand is the the western part of the Waddenzee. This area is very important for migrating birds and for fish. To have as many people as possible know about this beautiful reserve, Nature information center Balgzand 't Kuitje hosts wad excursions organised by the Waddenvereniging.
