Golden Valley

Schagerwad Schagen is approximately 100 hectares in size and almost entirely owned and managed by Staatsbosbeheer. This is the only nature reserve within the municipality of Schagen. There is a reed field of around 35 ha in the area, which is mowed every spring. The rest of the area is a small-scale polder landscape with a relatively high water level.

Museum Slag aan de Somme displays a collection of old uniforms, helmets, grenades, weapons and ammunition. Models depicting the events on the Somme during the First World War. The museum is housed in a three-storey tower.

At a place that did not attract before, in a center where one thought we had everything a nice adventure started. Havana Schagen is now known throughout the region for the delicious freshly prepared hapas, dishes with the unique charcoal grill taste and the atmospheric courtyard garden. Café Spoorzicht on the Nieuwe Laagzijde is a brown pub where everyone - from young to old - will find a good time.

At the car museum you go back in time. This was the time when not everyone was in possession of a car and people were extra proud of this property. This museum is all about the history of these cars. You can rest assured, the entrance is completely free.
