Campground Le Maire

There are only two bunkers of this type in the entire Atlantic Wall. These two imposing bunkers are located in the dunes at the beach entrance "de Zandloper" in Julianadorp. They never operated: the war ended before the bunkers were finished. The bunker on the north side is open to visitors. The bunkers consist of two floors. For example, you can see a huge round shaft on which the artillery would be placed. The ammunition would then come up through that. On the beach of Julianadorp, south restaurant Paal 6 you will find surfschool Foamball. The place with the most beautiful waves and the best surfing lessons. It is a tough sport that anyone can learn! Individually, children's parties or company outings, everyone is welcome! The surf lessons are possible from 6 years and are taught by highly trained surf instructors who are also lifeguards. Prices of rental equipment such as surfboards, supboards, wetsuits, skimboards, bodyboards and a volleyball net can be found on our website.

The bungalow park is spacious and is located right next to the dunes. You are therefore within 10 minutes walking on the stand. The park consists of 306 cottages of which we rent a part. On the park there is a football field, basketball court and plenty of space to play. The park is low traffic.

Beach Drooghe Weert is for the real lovers of nature, who come to seek some peace and quiet. The beach entrance lies next to a nature area and a bird reserve, where wheatears breed every spring. You can walk or cycle through the dunes. The villages of Groote Keeten and Callantsoog are easy to reach on bike.

KopGroep Bibiotheken (Libraries) has three branches in Den Helder and Julianadorp and a service point in De Schooten.

Our campsite is located in a quiet spot between the flower bulb fields and the beautiful Duinvliet hiking, cycling, canoeing and horseback riding path. It’s close to the beach, shopping centre, swimming pool and various restaurants. Our spacious camping pitches are equipped with running water, electricity (10 amps) and waste water drainage. Our sanitary building is equipped with underfloor heating and showering is free of charge. Our campsite also has a canoe rental that is accessible to young and old, experienced or inexperienced. Dogs are welcome at our campsite.
