Bunkermuseum / Educational Center M219

There are only two bunkers of this type in the entire Atlantic Wall. These two imposing bunkers are located in the dunes at the beach entrance “de Zandloper” in Julianadorp. They never operated: the war ended before the bunkers were finished. The bunker on the north side is open to visitors. The bunkers consist of two floors. For example, you can see a huge round shaft on which the artillery would be placed. The ammunition would then come up through that. These bunkers were part of the Zanddijk Battery, a complex that contained several bunkers. The enthusiastic volunteers of the M219 museum will tell you more about these bunkers. The adjacent M219 on the south side is now a viewpoint and gives a beautiful view over the dunes, beach and sea. The Bunkers are located in a nature reserve, so stay on the designated hiking trail. Wheelchair not accessible and for people with walking difficulties. Parking: Noorder Sandt. Open days can be found via Facebook and the website.
