Wandelexcursie door de Harger- en Pettemerpolder

Join the ranger for a walk through the vast Harger and Pettemer polder. Walk along old dikes built by monks in the Middle Ages and discover characteristic meadow windmills and the unique kadetjes landscape.

Along the way, you visit De Putten, a lake area created by the excavation of clay to reinforce the sea defenses. Today, the area is a paradise for birds. The ranger explains how the landscape was formed and which birds, flowers, and plants can be found here.

Wear sturdy walking shoes and clothing suitable for the weather. You may want to bring binoculars or a camera. Dogs are not allowed. Participation costs €13.50 per adult. Members of Natuurmonumenten pay €9.45.
