Abel is a 1986 Dutch tragicomic film directed by Alex van Warmerdam, who also stars alongside Annet Malherbe. The film centers on 31-year-old Abel, who still lives with his parents. His father, Victor, worries about his son, while his mother, Duif, excessively spoils Abel. When Abel buys a television with his mother, Victor has had enough and decides to kick his son out of the house. Abel subsequently ends up on the street and is forced to find his own way.
