Go in search of bats during a special evening walk through Wildrijk. As soon as evening falls, these special mammals become active and go hunting for insects. Various species of bats can be found in the nature reserve.
Accompanied by an experienced guide, you will discover more about their way of life and behaviour. With the help of a bat detector, the sounds of the bats become audible. Each species makes its own sound, allowing the guide to recognise which bats are flying around in the area. With a bit of luck, they can also be viewed with the guide’s thermal imaging camera.
During the walk, you will also get to know Wildrijk, a special forest and a remnant of the former estates in the Zijperpolder. The activity is suitable for adults and children and offers an educational introduction to nature and the bats that live in the area.
