On Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 September, you can discover Den Helder from the inside. During the national Open Monument Days, more than 25 special buildings are open to the public. From churches to bunkers, from houses to waterworks – you can step into another time.

This year, it’s all about heritage and architecture. Which buildings stay with us? And why? You’ll learn more about the design, function and stories of places that give the city character.
Free and accessible to everyone
The participating monuments are free to visit. You usually don’t have to register. Just go, look and be surprised by places you normally wouldn’t enter.
Make a weekend of it
Plan your route, take the bike or walk from location to location. Many buildings are close to each other. Participating locations can be recognized by the flag or the sign at the entrance.
