The Koninklijke Algemeene Vereeniging voor Bloembollencultuur (KAVB) is organising the Bollenplantdagen in the Noordelijk Zandgebied in November and December. During this initiative, flower bulb growers and volunteers will plant flower bulbs together to green the living environment and make spring more colourful.
In addition, residents are invited to take tours at local flower bulb growers in Anna Paulowna, Petten and Julianadorp. During these visits, they will get a look behind the scenes and discover how the sector is working on sustainable cultivation methods, biodiversity, responsible water use and healthy soils.
With the Bollenplantdagen, the KAVB wants to strengthen the connection between growers and residents, share knowledge and stimulate an open dialogue about the future of the flower bulb sector. Afterwards, visitors will receive flower bulbs to contribute to a colourful and biodiverse living environment themselves.
