Do you dare? On Thursday, September 5, the Be Tough Swim takes place: a spectacular crossing from Texel to Den Helder. The route runs straight through the Marsdiep, a rough and fast-flowing stretch of sea where swimmers normally do not venture.
Not a trip for wimps
Participants brave tides, cold, and currents during this 4.5-kilometer crossing. It is a rock-solid physical and mental challenge. Only suitable for experienced swimmers.
Finish in Den Helder
The tour ends on the Den Helder side of the Marsdiep, where supporters are waiting and the water literally welcomes you. The exact finish location will be announced later, depending on the current.
You can look too.
Not swimming along? Then come watch! There is plenty of room along the dike at the Marsdiep to cheer on the swimmers. A rare spectacle that you can experience live.
