Join us in the North Dunes during a special 90-minute excursion with ranger Tim. Landschap Noord-Holland is turning 90 and is marking the occasion with short, unique tours through nature.
During this walk, you will look for the European Stonechat: a characteristic dune bird that likes to breed in abandoned rabbit burrows. This is precisely what makes it vulnerable, as the number of rabbits has been declining for years. Ranger Tim shows how he is working on a better habitat for this bird. And with success: in 2025, 242 young fledged from 42 breeding pairs.
Along the way, you will also look out for other bird species, plants, and lichens native to this dune area. The route goes off the beaten path, so put on sturdy walking shoes. Binoculars and a camera are definitely worthwhile.
