M219 Seezielbatterij Zanddijk – Bunkermuseum

M219 Seezielbatterij Zanddijk – Bunkermuseum

There are only two bunkers of this type in the entire Atlantic Wall. These two imposing bunkers are located in the dunes near the “Zandloper” beach access point in Julianadorp. They were never used: the war ended before the bunkers were completed. The bunker on the north side is open to visitors. The bunkers consist of two floors. A huge circular shaft is visible, where the guns would have been placed. The ammunition would then be brought up through it. These bunkers were part of the Zanddijk Battery, a complex that contained several bunkers.

The enthusiastic volunteers at the M219 museum will tell you more about these bunkers. The adjacent M219 on the south side is now a lookout point, offering beautiful views of the dunes, beach, and sea. The bunkers are located in a nature reserve, so please stay on the designated walking path.

Not wheelchair accessible and for people with walking difficulties.

Parking: Noorder Sandt.

Open days can be found via Facebook and the website.

We’re open every other weekend from May to September and every Saturday during the summer holidays (north). Open from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
