The Westermolen was built in 1854. This mill is placed with 2 other mills. The purpose of this is to drain the eastern polder. He replaced an earlier mill that burned down on the night of February 18-19, 1854 after a lightning strike. The drainage was partly taken over by a steam pumping station in 1893. And a mill next to it has been demolished (the Nieuwe Molen.) In 1950 the steam pumping station was replaced by an electric one. Wind-powered drainage became less and less and in 1986 it was completely taken over by the electric pumping station. The mill was completely renovated from 1975 to 1978. The blade housing is equipped with a Fauël system. This was because the water level had dropped and now the mill has to raise it higher. In 1861 is de stolpboerderij met enkel vierkant gebouwd. Het is een Noord-Hollandse normaalstolp: kenmerkend zijn de dorsdeuren aan de achterzijde van de stolp. Het voordakvlak is rietgedekt met een pannenspiegel. In de jaren 80 is vermoedelijk het gehele dak voorzien van riet. De schuur (ook eens stolp) is gebouwd in 1898 voor het onderbrengen van stieren, kalveren, een paard en een varken.
