In the beautiful North Holland coastal area, with it's great diversity of landscapes, CAN Vakantiehuizen offers many cottages / bungalows in various parks in Julianadorp / Den Helder and Breezand. The accommodations are especially suitable for 4/6 persons (including accommodation for two and 10 people) and range from comfortable to luxurious (3 to 4 stars). KopGroep Bibiotheken (Libraries) has three branches in Den Helder and Julianadorp and a service point in De Schooten.

When you look towards Den Helder, at night you can see a bright light shining from miles away (33,5 miles to be exact!). It's ''De Lange Jaap''; the symbol of Den Helder. It is the tallest cast-iron lighthouse of Europa, and the second-highest lighthouse in the Netherlands. It towers above everything else at 63 meters tall.

Since 1996, the museum lightship Texel No. 10 has been an absolute eye-catcher in Museum Harbor Willemsoord on the Oude Rijkswerf Willemsoord in Den Helder. What is special is that the now beautifully restored ship is moored a stone's throw from the slipway where she was launched in 1951. After this, the lightship would be a reliable beacon in the sea off the Dutch coast for forty years. It now forms a shining centerpiece of a special museum ships collection. Visit our cozy, homely lunch café at Willemsoord. Our café has a beautiful, old industrial look to it. We offer you an excellent and surprising lunch menu. Enjoy over 20 different kinds of coffee and 12 flavours of tea. We make all our products ourself. For (corporate) parties, we provide high tea's, high beers and high wines, all for a good price.

There are only two bunkers of this type in the entire Atlantic Wall. These two imposing bunkers are located in the dunes near the "Zandloper" beach access point in Julianadorp. They were never used: the war ended before the bunkers were completed. The bunker on the north side is open to visitors. The bunkers consist of two floors. A huge circular shaft is visible where the artillery would have been placed. The ammunition would then be brought up through it. These bunkers were part of the Zanddijk Battery, a complex that contained several bunkers. The enthusiastic volunteers

At the end of 2005, the nature in Den Helder was expanded with more than 50 hectares of natural bush land. Flower bulb fields were converted into low dunes, dune grasslands and water features. Come and visit and be amazed by the wealth of flowers, butterflies and birds. Don’t forget your boots!

The marina of our organization is situated around the ''Onrust'' area. On the one side the basin and the Spoorharbor, and at the other side the Canal of Den Helder. In total we have around 100 berths. The births vary in size from 6 meters to around 17 meters.

Willemsoord Marina is a marina with modern sanitary facilities, a launderette and a fuel pontoon where you can refuel with diesel oil. The marina is equipped with a WiFi system. As a marina, we have proudly been wearing the Blue Flag since 2009 and since 2016 the Green Pennant has also been added. The Blue Flag and Green Pennant are international environmental awards. Outside the marina we have a yacht yard where you can go for all types of maintenance and repair work.
