Molenromp Barsingerhorn

Molenromp Barsingerhorn

The flour mill in Barsingerhorn was built in 1907 because in February 1907 the mill that stood here burned down in a fire. For the construction of a new mill/the current mill, a demolition mill was sought in the Zaan region. The peeling mill ‘Het Wapen van Friesland’ was found for this purpose in Zaandam-East, which was built in 1761. The mill was dismantled around 1920, whereby the sail cross, the hood, the hull to the bottom joist layer of the top octagon, the scaffolding and the work going on were removed. The mill hull is located on the north side of the Vaart on the eastern edge of Barsingerhorn and in an open area. The mill has significant landscape significance and serves, among other things, as a clubhouse for Golf Course Molenslag.
