Join us for a walk through the beautiful Kolhorn on Saturday April 5!
The first crocuses and snowdrops are already showing themselves – the sign that the walking season is starting again! That is why the Province of North Holland and Recreation North Holland cordially invite you to the annual seasonal walk on the North Holland path. This year we will explore part of stages 7 and 8, together with deputy Esther Rommel (Recreation & Tourism).
Starting point: Restaurant ‘t Anker – a warm welcome!
We gather at 09:00 at Restaurant ‘t Anker in Kolhorn. Here, owners Tanita and Alberto welcome us with delicious coffee and artisanal pastries. Alberto, pastry chef and chocolatier, makes the most delicious bonbons and desserts – a perfect start to this hike!
A unique walking experience through Kolhorn and the surrounding area
Kolhorn is an important junction of the Noord-Hollandpad and a beautiful place to discover. The route takes us along the Kolhornerdiep, over the grass dike at the Waardkanaal, through vast farmlands and the historic village of Kolhorn. Along the way we admire the picturesque harbour, authentic houses with overgardens and the restored black barns, where peat used to be stored. Local guides tell us more about the special history and nature.
Optional lunch & museum visit
After the walk you can enjoy a joint lunch and optionally visit the De Turfschuur museum, where the rich history of the region comes to life.
