‘Light festival Helder Licht’ makes its seventh appearance in Den Helder. After the success of the sixth edition of this freely accessible light festival, Den Helder will shine again from 25 October to 3 November.
Breathtaking light artworks
For three weeks, the streets of Den Helder and Willemsoord will be transformed by unique light artworks with a maritime theme. These artworks were specially designed for Den Helder, fitting our port city. The 2-kilometre walking route starts at the Watertoren and takes the public through the city centre, Rijkswerf Willemsoord and past historic shipyards.
Den Helder in the spotlight
Den Helder is preparing to shine during the seventh edition of the light festival. In addition to the enchanting light art route, there will be many other activities that will put the city in the spotlight.
The festival organization works closely with local businesses and cultural institutions to enrich the event. For example, the official opening of the festival will coincide with the annual Lichtjesloop. In addition, ships in the Museumhaven of Willemsoord will be beautifully illuminated. A music and art program will also be set up, in addition to varied guided tours.
Experience a magical evening
During the entire Helder Licht period, Den Helder transforms into a destination where visitors can enjoy magical evenings in a maritime ambiance. Helder Licht can be admired daily from 19:00 to 22:00, from 25 October to 3 November.
