Step onto the farmyard and you are right in the middle of it: real farm life. On Sunday, April 12, the Huisman family opens their farm for a day full of experiencing, discovering, and doing. Together with their four daughters, they run a lively business with dairy cows, sheep, a farm shop, and day care activities.
Wander past the barn and meet some 135 dairy cows, 100 sheep, and a whole lot of curious lambs. There is something happening all around you: horses, chickens, rabbits, and even the farm dog roam happily.
There is plenty for children to do. Help Farmer Bert with chores, go on a scavenger hunt around the farmyard, and learn more about cows and Beemster cheese through play. Hop on a pedal tractor, get your face painted, or join the magic show. Prefer something more active? Try the clog game, play on the XXL shuffleboard, or take a pony ride.
In between, it’s nice to take a break on the terrace. Enjoy a warm toasted sandwich with Beemster cheese, a cup of coffee or tea with apple pie, or a refreshing ice cream. Sit down for a moment, take a look… and then move on.
A day outdoors, full of little adventures and big smiles.
