Theo Leijdekkers Exhibition – flowers with impact
From July 5 to September 20, Kunstuitleen Den Helder is showcasing work by artist Theo Leijdekkers. His paintings are anything but classic floral still lifes. They burst with color, energy, and boldness.
Figurative, but far from tame
Leijdekkers plays with light, shadow, and form. No delicate flower petals rendered in detail, but large, colorful canvases that almost blow you away. Recognizable and figurative, yet with a style entirely his own: sensual, baroque, and full of painting joy.
About the artist
Theo Leijdekkers studied pedagogy as well as at the Minerva Art Academy in Groningen. His studio is located in Pieterburen. His work remains close to the classic floral genre, but with a powerful, contemporary twist.
