Wingfoil Amstelmeer

This may be the oldest beach in North Holland, as the sand is more than 100,000 years old. The recreational beach is located on the Amstelmeer in the Kop van Noord-Holland. You can take a break at the cozy Brandend Zand beach bar.

The Watersport Vereniging Amstelmeer has both certified courses, competition events and a fun component that often goes together. In the summer months there is a competition against each other on Tuesday evening, with a pleasant discussion afterwards at the bar in the clubhouse, where the sausage is cut by the person who draws the winning fate. Several times a year competitions for sailing boats and tours for motor boaters are organized such as the opening championships, 4-port competition, dab race, eel race etc.

Due to the closure of the Amsteldiep in 1924, the construction of the Afsluitdijk and the Wieringermeerpolder, Wieringen merged into the Noordkop. Op het hoogste punt van Wieringen, misschien wel van Noord Holland, zo'n 13 meter boven zeeniveau en met mooi uitzicht op het wad is de Wieringer Frietkraam gevestigd. Het is een vaste standplaats voor het hele jaar dus 5 dagen per week de mogelijkheid om een eigen gemaakt frietje, kroket en zelfs de Scheltenburger te komen smullen. De piepers komen van Maarten Kikkert van het land en het vlees van de kroket komen van de koetjes van Maarten. De Scheltenburger is natuurlijk ook van de koetjes van Wieringer Bodem. Alles heerlijk zelfgemaakt!
