A walk through this beautiful 17 ha forest is especially special in the spring because of the many stinzen plants that, thanks to the first owner, bloom en masse. Stinzen plants (stinsen plants) are naturalizing spring flowers, bulb, tuber and root crops that have been planted since around the 16th century. The wild hyacinth in particular is found in incredible numbers in Wildrijk. The special Poet’s Narcissus also blooms during this period. The farmer’s crocus, wood anemone and spring sunflower grow there, and in between the young ferns with their fresh green color. The forest is full of singing and breeding birds. You will not know where to look or hear.
No registration required. Everyone is welcome to join (free of charge). From 11:00 to 15:00 volunteers and guides from Landschap Noord-Holland will be ready for you with a promotional vehicle and they will be happy to tell you about the nature reserves and activities in the Noordkop. Experienced nature guides will give guided tours of approximately one hour. These tours start every hour. The last one starts at 15:00. Coffee, tea and lemonade are ready.
