Fluitenfestijn in Michaëlskerk

Fluitenfestijn in Michaëlskerk

On Sunday afternoon, the atmospheric St. Michael’s Church in Oosterland will host an enchanting interplay between organ and traverso. Organist Leo van Doeselaar and flautist Marten Root, both internationally renowned, will take the audience on a musical journey through the Renaissance and Baroque periods. Their performance, titled Flute Festival , is a unique encounter between two historical instruments that connect through tone and breath.

Root plays two rare traversos, carefully tuned to the pitch of the 1762 Teschemacher organ. The warm flute tones blend seamlessly with the authentic organ sound, making it seem as if the instruments share a single voice. An intimate and captivating concert for lovers of classical music and historical performance art.
